Hey, i love all types of disorted music and i came accross this site. Great stuff on here. But im curious, are speedbass and noisecore the same thing? They seem awfully similer. Perhaps someone could explain the differences.

Heh noisecore is Daughters and Dillenger Escape Plan.
I've never heard of this noisecore stuff before,so I typed noisecore in google and I've found that noisecore is a variant of grindcore. :exclam:
"Some of the bands play noisecore because of lack of skill, but it is important to notice that the genre is not only a joke or field for "untalented", but also serious form of "music""
I guess you don't talk about that kind of noisecore. It seems that this term is used for a subgenre of harcore techno too, like terrorcore and so on...
My advice is: if you wanna know the difference between speedbass and the other types of music,
1:read the following thread
http://www.speedbass.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&file=viewthread&tid=26
2:go to terbo ted's website (www.terboted.com) and listen to "Rodeo1","Thrashifier","Bud" Enjoy! ;)

doesnt .dj.rotting.corpse. have a split called "emo is my favorite noisecore subgenre"?
Theres noisecore which is hardcore and metal influenced like Daughters, Dillenger Escape Plan and Botch and electronic/noise noisecore like noisecorefreak but the two usually meet at some stage. That dj.rotting.corpse release is just a noise release isn't it? I dunno...
Just found some noisecore there:

Noisecore is early ANAL CUNT, 7 MINUTES OF NAUSEA, early MEAT SHITS, INFECTED PUSSY, DECHE CARGE etc. Noisecore is *noise*, nothing to do with DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and all the so called "postcore" stuff.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, this stuff must be sooooooo extreme and wikkkkked ... I think I'll have bad dreams and poo in my pants tonight.... DETHGRINDANALGABBASPEEDBREAKCORE
here's some subgenres you distortion monkeys should try: grannycore christmascore braziliancore teenagepunkcore yodelcore ..... countrycore......
well.....
speedbass actually could be called countrycore... I wonder which direction will the 6th wave of SB take..
never trust ppl who try to sell you "extreme" sh*t.... windows' SNDREC32.exe can be extreme as fuck..

i like crapcore, shitcore and dumbcore, oh and andrea corr :P
Here's a funny review of a compilation which many consider a defining document of the NoiseCore "movement"!
http://www.almostcool.org/mr/v/v19mu.html
My fave bit is the summary "if you're feeling a tad aggressive and feel like dancing and possibly hurting yourself while doing so, this is probably the perfect soundtrack." Uh... yes - what you said. Be careful with that noisecore, buddy. Another funny thing, this CD was distributed by none other than K-TEL RECORDS! The same K-Tel which specialized in selling crap rock comps in department stores during the 1970's! They did get some noisy feedback about sending a disk to department stores with track names such as "Shit", and "Cum". It challenged their perception of the world!
Of course noisecore has had no definition stick. People inevitably ask me what "kind of" music I make. What the fuck would I say?! I have often said "NoiseCore" to people, because it CAN describe much of what I have done, but I know it is not what anybody else would identify with the term.
I was talking with two guys on a subway in NYC a couple of years ago who said that NoiseCore is so poorly defined that it is meaningless, and then one of the guys chimed in that LIKE SPEEDBASS, it was a "made-up" genre of music! WTF is (or isn't!) a made-up genre? Later, y'all... I'm gonna go pigeonhole myself! >;]P
