(from the Eye interview with DuranDuranDuran )

Quote
Simon Reynolds, former senior editor at SPIN magazine and author of the essential rave-history textbook, Generation Ecstasy, agrees with Flis. "[The return to rave] is definitely a reaction against that overly prissy and anal click style," he says by email from his New York City home. "Also, the whole post-Autechre thing went right up its own arse."

tell this guy to return to his oh-so-cool-Ibiza-house mag and stop whining about electronica.
I like clicks. I like bleeps.Yes, I LOVE squarepusher and 'snares. Techno in the end will eat itself , and the rave sceen isn't always the Good Genuine Thing, in my opinion...... if you can't have fun without stripes, pillz and tripz (in that order during the night) , then you're wasted. Ok, there's nothing bad with drugs in themselves , if you can take them without pissing other ppl pff ..
But I'm missing the point. Yes, autechre influenced many. Alec empire influenced many others. You're a loser if you can't tell that ur music is crap and want to be distributed, that's what, but the simple fact that electronic music production is nowadays witin everybody's reach doesn't mean that all who come forth are losers.. (I'm obviously defending my category of losers, mind..)
With commercial crap all over the place , pouring in from all media , and electronica that doesn't believe in itself, what are we going to do?
switch to speedbass and don't give a fuck

unleash the power ov the all mighty MEGASPITBASSMON
